If the 2nd theory is true, then I feel Pan American used same exact machines, tools, and set up as Cg Conn plant. For some reason, this 584n-2 model was dropped.

The original music lyre holder is present. The Cg Conn 524n, 514n versus Pan American 584n, 72n stencil question 584n and metal clarinets are often referred to as c. These instruments where built for their amazing big sound.

Although I have run across one. Restored with all new pads about a year ago, but lightly played.

This 584n-2 is exactly the same as 524n except for engraved label on bell and thumb rest has a slightly different design. Even the esteemed buffet r13 does not play perfectly in tune this is a great player and clarinet for collectors.

The mouthpiece cap is vintage, but I do not believe it original. These clarinets have pretty good intonation, but not perfect intonation which is typical of old vintage. These Pan American model's are almost mechanically and acoustically identical to the Conn 524n 514n. Conn stencils.

Conn did make Olympian mouthpieces as they are often found with Pan American instruments, both wood wind and brass wind instruments. Per Wikipedia, the Pan American company was established by Carl. The 584n-6 did not have inner gold wash bell.

The other model, 584n-6, was a nickel silver body with smooth finish. Art decor design silver plated satin finish with 24kt gold burnished bell superb condition. I have included a wood wind company steel ebonies b8 facing hard rubber mouthpiece. From the early 1980schreiber of Germany made buffet e-11 for crampon France until purchased company around year this clarinet has a very nice sound.

A stencil instrument is made by manufactured one company for another. For years the buffet e11 was a Schroeder stencil. Production was discontinued maybe because the silver plated satin finish body too much like Conn 582n. The micro tuner barrel adjusts perfectly with butter smooth action.

The key is using a good mouthpiece. It takes persons like myself who actually work on all these model's to tell you they are the same except for minor cosmetic trim differences and label logo engrave don body of instrument. This Pan American 584n in the beginning was available two model's with different finishes 584n-2 and 584n-6 see picture marketing ad. Green leaf, Cg Conn president investor, in year a feel people Pan American made their own plants independent from the plant because it is separate company.

Included is an Olympian hard rubber mouthpiece that in great condition. The silver plated satin finish body imperfect.

The manufacture of instrument simply stencil engrave brand with other company's name. I thinks it is original but am not 100 sure. The exterior is in very good condition too. Even the key to is present absolutely rare.

There are fewer model's of this uncommon 584n-6 silver plated satin with gold wash bell versus the common nickle smooth finish body no washed. Perfect example is the buffet e-11. It also has the same micro-tuner barrel similar to Cg Conn wonder ii series saxophones of late 1920s. The player will have to practice and get know dynamics of this clarinet.

Players practiced and learned to adjust their embouchure bring particular problem notes in tune. Current day jazz musicians prefer vintage horns for their sound quality and learn to bring in tune those problem notes. This clarinet is in near mint condition. It is silver plated with the satin finish 4 piece body clarinet gold burnished aka wash bell.

Keep in mind the late 1920s through mid 1930 was great depression era. This 584n-2 is virtually a copy of the Cg Conn 524n. I noticed in later year marketing ads catalogs, only the 584n-6 nickel silver body was available.

The red velvet interior is in superb condition. The solid brass hardware is stunning of metal clarinets produced are not silver plated. The ligature is original. The silver plated keys are 98 perfect with no plating wear.

Many feel the Pan American 584n and 72n are Cg Conn stencils that were made at same plant. The original case is in great condition considering its roughly 90 years old. This model up for sale is the 584n-2 which silver plated satin finish with gold wash bell.

The Cg Conn 524n, 514n, Pan American 584n 72n construction quality are exactly same.
