Fibercane is a composite material made from Dacron polyester fibers and epoxy resins and is still used to make wood wind reeds. 3 Fibercane oboe reeds hard new old stock I am selling these in lots of three 3 reeds per lot. I have included photos from a 2003 wood wind brass wind catalog when they still carried the Fibercane reeds.

Shipping when I started to play oboe about 8 years ago, the best imitation wood reeds I could find were these Fibercane reeds. I used the Fibercane reeds to learn oboe with as they are not temperamental like wood reeds and they always play. Since the reed composition is made of synthetic cellulose fibers, the playing characteristics are similar to a genuine wood reed.

They are not made any more because the manufacturing costs were too high. A bid quantity of 2 is for 6 reeds, etc.

As they had been discontinued several years before I took up the oboe, I bought all I could find on the internet.

These are the original Fibercane oboe reed, hard strength. They are much better than the regular plastic oboe reeds.

I have graduated to real wood reeds so I am selling the Fibercane reeds that I have never used. Stored in a smoke free, pet free house. These are brand new in the original boxes. Verified account and I will only ship to a confirmed address.
