No smoke or mildew also no yellowing or signs of aging. With 3 clarinet players in our house from late 1960's to 2003, i'm not sure of the actual age but somewhere between 1970 and there are no pencil or pen markings one small hand written number on the cover corner. Other wise absolutely clean.
