The msrp is 10,600. This oboe was selected over a period of four months from 38 oboes. This is the best oboe that Yamaha makes.
And it is usually sold for around 7,200. It is in excellent like knew condition. You won't find a better playing oboe available anywhere. This Yamaha proved to have a better tone and more consistent intonation.
I also liked that, as with the Laban's, it has a lined top joint that protects against cracks. I knew that wanted another oboe but was not in a hurry. I have had an injury that prevents me from continuing to perform and would hate see this instrument fall into disrepair a lack of use. I narrowed the search down to a AK royal Lorre and this one.
Never had a crack. Someone should be enjoying it. It was compared against not only other Yamaha's but oboes made by lubing, Lorre, and Hogarth. It has traveled with me on tour but been babied and seen minimal playing hours.
