Details:

Plating is mostly intact. The barrel and bell both say empire-state. Will need to be serviced return playing condition.

There is no serial number. Both joints have the eagle stamp. Penzel-m ller clarinets had a world-wide reputation. No cracks noticeable.

Serial number: n a the wood and keys are in good shape. Bore oiled to protect wood - no case. The instrument has been play tested to verify both joints are albert and do indeed match.

The clarinet has a LHS roller pink key and Rh beam-style keys, which is uncommon for an albert system. Their preference by the most eminent soloists marked them as first class instruments of makers. Case seen in pics is not included. They combine in the highest degree essential qualities of free and pure tone, perfection scale mechanism, ease manipulation execution?, as a Penzel-m ller ad 1920s put it.

The fact that Penzel m ller were German-trained craftsmen and they imported parts for their clarinets finally marked with American eagle from native place in Cortland Saxony a Penzel-m albert clarinet looks slightly different to common made by most of other instrument makers: design is more German than french.
